i recall when rakudo star hadn’t been released yet, someone on #perl6 speculated that perl6 would see broader adoption when mysql was eventually supported (easily). i couldn’t have agreed more. still hasn’t happened, and when you lurk on #perl6 you’ll notice people are off exploring the next cool angle, while real progress has been incremental at best; anyway, nothing like it was a year ago. guess we’re going to have to wait longer for perl6 … sigh. (yes, i’ll wait. why? b/c i have to.) ps. not a hacker, just a fan of high ideals.
