i recall when rakudo star hadn&#039;t been released yet, someone on #perl6 speculated that perl6 would see broader adoption when mysql was eventually supported (easily). i couldn&#039;t have agreed more. still hasn&#039;t happened, and when you lurk on #perl6 you&#039;ll notice people are off exploring the next cool angle, while real progress has been incremental at best; anyway, nothing like it was a year ago. guess we&#039;re going to have to wait longer for perl6 ... sigh. (yes, i&#039;ll wait. why? b/c i have to.) ps. not a hacker, just a fan of high ideals.]]></description>
